Mapped folder on Webspace

Hi together,

does somebody know a possibility to create a virtual drive which is mapped with some webspace (for example a url for a homepage) ?

I have installed a Time Manager software which can run on a network. On the home network, i don't have problems to get access from different PC's at the same time to the data-files of this Time-Manager-Software. It works very fine.

I'd like to get acces to this files also from my office pc. That's why i had the idea of a virtual drive (folder) which is located on my website.
All PC's at home and at the office would read and write to this datas...

Is this possible?

Thank you for your help.

Harry

The Mapped Network Drive feature can, as far as I know, only be used for mapping shared folders with a network.

However, if you open up My Network Places and click the button to "Add a network place" you can go through the wizard until it presents you with a screen to type in the location. If you click the examples button it gives the example "http://webserver/share". I don't know if this is going to be what you want.

well.. i tried different things.. it was possible to generate and to connect to a directory on my homepage with ftp.
When i work with Word or Excel or with the windowsexplorer, i can read and write files from and to this directory.

But i couldnt mapp this directory with a Drive number and with other programms i wasn't able to read or write to it.

Well... what i'd like to have is a folder or a drive somewhere on the internet where i can read and write datas in the same way as on my local computer....

Thank for the help....

Harry

I'm pretty certain that can't be done. With drive letters, you can have them pointing to locations on the network or local computer, but there's no way I know of getting them to point to a web location. The only way I think this is possible is with the My Network Places thing which doesn't appear to do what you want.
