media disconnected/netwrok cable unlugged error message
Hi,

I tried connecting my pc to another machine using a lan cable. However my system does not detect the network cable and shows me an icon in the system tray saying network cables unplugged.

I also tried doing an ipconfig from the command window and it tells me media disconnected. In my opinion even if you are not connected to the network you should have a default ip of 127.0.0.0. So i was expecting to see that but instead I got the media disonnected message

I also tried a diagnostics on the network card and the diagnostic failed for link.(At this point I was not connected to the other machine using the network cable)

Any ideas..
