You have to allow ICMP traffic into router 2

can someone help me with these routing tables.
When I disable NAT, I can't access the internet, and I'm not sure what to set the tables to. http://www.uberly.com/staticrouting.jpg I want to disable NAT, but im not sure what to set everything at to actually gain internet access ![]() |

What exactly are you trying to do?
What is the reason for two routers? Are you trying to create a DMZ? Which router do you want to disable Nat on? If you disable Nat then you have to have valid IP addresses for all your computers 192.168 addresses are private non routable addresses you can not use them on the internet |

So are you saying if you go into the 2nd router and you ping the address of the first router you don't get a return? You may need a crossover cable instead of straight thru.
Unless you can set the 2nd router to bridge only you can't connect the wan port to the switch port of the other router. Instead of the wan port connect to the switch port. Enable dhcp on the main router and disable it on the 2nd router. Basically you are turning the 2nd router into a switch. Then it will work. Another possiblity is to enable the wan port to get its address via dhpc from the 1st router or set it static to a address in the ip scope of the first router lan ports. Set the lan side of the 2nd router to provide dhcp in a completely differnet ip range of the first routers lan. Then it might work. Last edited by wanderer2 : September 2nd, 2004 at 03:25 PM. |
