My Network Problems on XP
I have a home network set up between 2 pc's in my home, with main pc as the host and 2nd pc as the client. It was working until my dsl modem had to be replaced. Now, though everything shows the connection is working, i am unable to access the web on the client pc. I had checked, recheck, reset and repaired the shared connection several times, but the problems persists. I wanted to delete the shared connections and redo them from scratch, but I am unable to delete the connection from either pc, with or without the cables connected. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. This is very frustrating, plus my children are clamboring to use my pc instead of theirs.
Thanks, ~Catatonicus~ |

Check that you can ping between the two computers. Once you can, make sure that on the computer with the Internet connection, the Internet connection is shared. Then, on the second computer, make sure that the Default Gateway field for the network adapter points to the IP address of the computer with the Internet. If it still doesn't appear to work, check whether or not you can access http://66.102.9.104 |
