I have a weird situation on my work laptop. The company tech guy was not able to help. I got this laptop(dell 430), last week. At first it was only connecting to the company's wireless signal, not able to connect to my home network or even free connections at coffee shops. The tech guy tried a few things (removed some mcafee thing that could have been blocking it, re-installed the driver, etc) and a week later, I still can't get it to work in my home network.
I normally have my ssid hidden, wep keyed, and mac filtered. My work laptop was not able to "see" my ssid until I disabled Hide ssid. After disabling everything, it's still not able to connect. It says "waiting for network" then it just stops and refreshes the list of wireless networks in range. I have verizon, modem is a westell 327w. Tech guy did something to my laptop yesterday and now it's able to connect to the coffee shop network but still can't to my home network. Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this? I am dying of frustration. Please help. |

Is the wireless adaptor set to obtain IP/DNS automatically, or is it statically configured?

Does anybody have any idea of why this wouldn't work? Is it my network? Is it some kind of compatibility issue? Please help.
