need help in setting up no-ip.com to forward properly for php
I am trying to set up a little web host on my home computer. I have easyPHP installed, and I have no-ip.com set up to forward to my assigned IP. The bad thing is that when I enter my no-ip dsn or my present IP address I get forwarded to my routers setup ID (192.168.1.1). I am not sure how to set it up so it forwards it to the proper IP, does any one know?
Thanks There may be a better forum for this, but I figured that maybe other people have also experienced the same problem when setting up php server on their home machine |

As long as you have no-ip set up correctly (which it sounds like you have) you need to configure port forwarding on the router. Go to the web admin interface for the router and find something like port forwarding or traffic policy. Here, you'll be able to select a port number (you need port 80 for a web server) and get it to forward to your internal web server.

hey thanks,
I thought that was what I needed to do, so I had previously tweaked the UPnP(I don't really know what this is), since there was already a port 80 in their, but that didn't work so I figured that wasn't what I needed to do. After you mentioned that that it is the forwarding that ha to be tweaked I customized one of the forwarding setting a port range etc. Now it works perfectly. Thanks |
