Running 2 NT4 servers. BDC running Wingate for existing dial-up proxy server.
New broadband router IP is 192.168.2.1 with IP Pool ..2.101-2.199 Our Primary server is running DHCP which means I need to disable DHCP on the router. Don't know how to make servers and therefore workstations see the new router. Please help .... the usual 30 people breathing down my neck. I'm not an IT person by trade and only know enough to be dangerous. Regards, CanFly |

Turn off dhcp on the router. Assign a ip address to the lan side of the router that is in your ip range. You don't mention your ip range but for example if you are using 200.200.10.1 for a present gateway address you could configure the router to be 200.200.10.2. Add this gateway address as part of your dhcp configuration so it gets rolled out to the clients and you are done.
I would add that you should EXCLUDE this gateway address from your dhcp scope as well you should any servers/routers/switches/equipment so these addresses don't get served out to workstations. Last edited by wanderer2 : August 3rd, 2004 at 04:04 PM. |
