Need my cable connecting to other PC - Wireless
Hi,
im wanting to connect my cable internet from this computer, to the one i have just built down stairs. (wireless, because i hate wires) I have heard i need a wireless router (to connect to this computer) and a PCI card (i think) slotting into the pc downstairs, and then connecting them up some how, lol. If i am right i came accross these: Wireless PCI card Wireless Router These are 2 complete differant auctions, so i was wondering would they both connect together with my blueyonder internet connection ? My current modem is connected to my tower through a ethernet cable thingy. Please let me know and il get em both in the post to my house ![]() Also, with these items, could i connect it to my xbox through a ethernet wire ? thanks ![]() |

Quote:
That's not completely correct. You have an Internet connection with an ethernet interface. This means that if you buy the wireless router listed on Ebay, you should be able to connect the Internet to the WAN port. Then, you'll need to buy two wireless PCI cards - one for each computer. Once installed, both computers should be able to wirelessly communicate with the router. Finally, if you've also got an xbox, the wireless router has the ability to cope with 4 wired clients, so you should be able to plug the xbox directly into the router. |
