Need your advice for put server on internet
HI All,
at moment ive 1 hub with 2 pc(xp) connected on internet and ive a server (win2003 server) with 5 clients. i want give to the client connected to the server the possibility to use outlook (the best will be if the client can only use outlook without possibility to surf on internet) of course the server has important data so im very fear to connect the server on internet directly. my idea (dont know if it is possible to do and works) its to add a new network card into the server and connect the server directly to the pc (that is connected to internet) using a local address than share the internet connection. how you think i should do ? thank you |

From what I gather from your post, the server and clients can all be plugged into a local network. But I'm not really sure what network you've currently got setup - there seems to be a hub with 2 clients and a server with 5 clients. Surely, every computer can be plugged into one hub and then whichever computer has the Internet, it can be shared or not, depending on whether you want it shared.
Perhaps you could just guide me through your setup a little more slowly, so I could help you more... |
