Network no internet!

Hey
probably get this question alot so apoligise in advance!

We have just set up a network from a cable modem in2 a sitecom router with 4 computers from it 1 mac 3 pc 2 pcs have xp and 1 has win 98se. The problem is with the 98se pc it can connect to the network and share files but cant connect to the internet. We thought the problem could be that there is no wins 32 server addresses in the ipconfig but dont now how to add them if it is this. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Cheers

Stu

The internet doesn't use wins only dns so that is all you need to be concerned about.

can you ping the gateway? Can you ping the wan interface? can you ping the dns server? Where ping stops tells you where the break is.

Windows 98 and winsock issues are like alcohol and me, they go together very well..

Try running this winsock repair tool, http://news.swzone.it/swznews-9826.php and see what happens with that.
