networking Windows 2k pro x2 with no luck

I justed added a windows 2k pro (clean install) machine to my 4 computer network via a linksysbefsr41.

When I added this machine to the network, it booted the primary desktop off the network and I am no longer able to share with my primary desktop.

My new win2k pro machine can access the entire network but no the primary desktop...

I still have DSL access on all machines and the dhcp table is not indicating any conflicts of IP addresses.

any advice?

thanks,
ab

I've never really worked with win2k, but could the new machine and one of your other machines be "battling" over which one is the master browser for the network?
