Networking XP to Win 2000

I have a laptop running XP that I want to connect to a laptop running Win 2K professional. The laptop is part of a domain (work computer) and the other laptop is part of a workgroup (home computer).

I am not able to "see" the win 2K laptop from the xp laptop and vice versa.

I have networked two win 2k laptops together before, one that was on a domain and one that was part of workgroup. No problems.

These two laptops are networked via a wireless internet connection. There's a printer sitting on the wireless network as well (the printer is also physically connected to the win 2k laptop).

What is different about XP? I am assuming that I can't join the XP laptop to the same workgroup as the win 2k is on because the XP one belongs to a domain. Or, do I not even need to worry about the fact that they're not on the same domain. All I want to do is share files between the two and share a printer.

Any suggestions?

You can give the workgroup the same name as the domain, and add common users and passwords on both computers.

You haven't accidently enabled the Internet Connection Firewall on the wireless connection? In Network Connections, right-click the connection and select Properties. Then, click the the Advanced tab and check that it's not enabled.
