Linux box's ip correct? Can you ping the router from the linux box? Static or dhcp address?

go to command prompt on the linux box and type ifconfig and see if ip, dns, default gateway are correct if it is do a netstat -r and look at its routing table to make sure it is correct also. turn of any firewall you may have on the linux box while troubleshooting. if you can ping www.yahoo.com then everything is cool and there is most likely an issue with the web browser itself.

what did you ping www.yahoo.com? or the ip address of yahoo.com. basicly I want to know if you are resolving names to ip addresses ( checking DNS ). also are you using mozila and did you apply any patches to the box before this started. |
