Not able to ping from XP to 2000

Discuss Not able to ping from XP to 2000 in the Networking Help forum on Dev Shed.

Not able to ping from XP to 2000
Hi,

I have two notebook Windows 2000 and Windows XP networked with each other using hub.

I am able to ping from 2000 to XP, but when I ping from XP to 2000. I get message timed out.

Both machine are in the same work group. I can see file share in Windows 2000 machine, but not in Windows XP.

TCP/IP for Window 2000: 192.168.10.2, subnet 255.255.255.0
TCP/IP for Windowxp: 192.168.10.1, subnet 255.255.255.0
