Nuked computer. Need internet back up
Ok I had to nuke my computer because I had 100,000 viruses (a little more but whose counting
).I don't know much about setting the internet up. I had my neighbors do it and payed them a small fee. I have all the things to set up my internet (through a modem). Can anyone give me some directions on how to fix it? I know I must be vague but I can't seem to find any more details to give you... |

You plug the computer into the modem
You boot the computer. You go to a cmd prompt and type ipconfig /all Do you have a ip address and if so what is it? Ping the listed dns server. Is ping successful? Go into IE and tools/internet options/connections tab and check never dial a connection so it uses the lan. report back what works and what doesn't |
