Im not so sure on the problem you are having, however I have a pretty elaborate setup at home and even there I have complete APC surge protectors and battery backups/ Of course I didnt have to pay for them, but I still use them. You dont know how many times they have saved my skin.
**note** you can only use a line repeater once I'm told. So that means a max length of 200 meters.
213ad: Try to shut down all of the machine and try them one by one. Trying to eliminate all slower computer will anrrow your search down alot faster.
