PC B can ping PC A but not the other way around??
I have a problem getting one pc to talk to another pc on my home based network. Here is how my network is setup:
On PC A I access the Internet via Comcast cable using an SMC Cable modem gateway (Router A). PC B is connected to a router, Linksys WRT54GS (Router B), which is connected to Router A which is hooked to PC A. Both PCs can access the Internet with no problem. Both PCs are Dell running Windows XP Pro using TCP/IP. The problem: PC B can ping PC A and Router A but PC A cant ping PC B or Router B! Question? How do I get PC A to successfully ping PC B? Maybe you have blocked ping responses in one of the routers.

Classic sign of a machine with a active software firewall. Disable all firewalls to test. If you can ping both ways re-engage and properly configure to trust the local subnet.

I can ping sites on the Internet from PC A and PC B so I don't think I have "pinging" turned off on either router. I'll try to disable my firewall and retry pinging from PC A to PC B. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks, obandr
