PCAnywhere 11.0 Help
I have been testing out pcAnywhere 11.0, Here is my setup
PC 1: Host PC 2: Remote Computer connecting too If some one is working on PC 2, can I log into PC 2 from PC 1 and not interuppt what they are doing, like it won't lock them out and they can still use it while I am remotely connected. How do you do this??? |

Your terminology is backwards. In PCAW, the host is the computer you connect TO, the remote is the computer you are using to make the connection.
I don't believe you can do what you want with PCAnywhere. When you connect the host screen, mouse and keyboard are connected to your computer. Both machines see the same screen, and whatever is typed or moused on either computer is processed by windows.

What you like to do works fine with "radmin"...
My sons pc is connected to my home network and i use "Radmin" to connect to his pc from my office. Even during the time i am connected he can use his pc as usual. Keyboard and mouse are still working fine. I see everything he is doing and my mouse and keyboard have the same functions as his own has. His computer is configured as "host", mine is working as "remote viewer".... Greetings Harry |

This is how pcanywhere works too. I thought the question was how to get a separate login session like with terminal services on a windows server, or VNC on a *nix box |

I click remote, (tcp/ip) type in the host IP address, but after a while I get the error "unabole to attach to specified device" , Another person who has the basic same set up as I do , is able to connect to the host with no problems.. What could be the problem??? PLEASE HELP ,,,ME,,,,, mmm ..eee me,. Thanks in advance
Oh by the way, I'm told that the host is set up to accept my connection, I tried to ping the host, no results,, I did a tracert and can get as far as the network but it times out before reaching the host, and scanning for the ip or open ports yeilds nothing. HELP |

Either you have no connection to the remote server or it's not running PCAW.
I'd say fix the network pings & traceroute first. |
