Hi,
I'm a PCAnywhere (10.5) host modem waiting on a Windows 2000 PC. When a PCAnywhere remote calls and logs in I would like to: 1. Transfer files from remote to host. 2. Execute a batch file on the host. 3. Transfer files from host to remote. 4. Logoff and wait for the next remote to login. Using ole and VB can someone please tell which objects (awrem32/awhost32/winawsvr) and methodes I need to do the above. Thanks rambleon |

I'm not sure I understand the question but then again I may not be abreast of the latest products, PCAnywhere modem, is this a piece of hardware? I only say this because the only PCAnywhere I have come across is the software that does all af the above, forgive me if I am a little out of touch. JonO |

I don't know about 10.5. PCAW 11 allows you to set up a command queue that you can schedule to run automatically. You can put commands in your queue that will do what you want.

pcaw 11 command queue
Douge thanks for the reply,
I think this is the way i have to go, but before I upgrade to pcaw 11 one question can I put the command queue on the host machine to execute automatically after the remote logs in. Rambleon |

I use some command queues to automatically backup files on some remote boxes I manage.
The queue is stored on my computer, and scheduled with the windows task scheduler. I have the queues set to automatically log on, execute the commands, and then log off. I guess the commands are automatically transferred over to the host when you get logged on, since there is no need for any command queue on the host for this to work. It works well too, and I don't remember seeing this functionality in pcaw 10.5 or earlier. I have not regretted the upgrade to pcaw 11 even though it's a bit expensive. |

I don't know on this one. I have everything saved in my remote and I'm the only person that connects. There may be a way to fire off commands on connect from the hosts settings, take a look around the pcanywhere site knowledgebase maybe? |
