Unhappy Please help me set up a wireless network

Please can some one stop me from going insane, I am really struggling setting up a network between 2 computers. I have installed the drivers and I have got an icon on both computers but that is were I get stuck, after that I am lost please help

so can they see eachother... can you ping the computer from the other one?

You have installed drivers and you have icons. Do you think that's enough useful information for anyone to even CONSIDER the problem, much less solve it? You tried pinging. Have you tried anything else that failed that would help narrow the problem?

Have you even run wizards or attempted manual setup? With what effect? What is the IP configuration? What is your O.S.? XP SP1 will be different than XP regarding what's available with respect to wireless, but then you might have one Mac and one RedHat. Who knows? Ad hoc connection? WAP? Internet connection?
