Port Forward Help

First of all, i m not an it person so please guide me step by step. Thanx
Apparently i read the stickies but i still cant figure out the solution to my problem.
Here it goes,
I m connected to my school network via a cable. But apparently i cant connect to ports of 27015 but able to 27017. So i guess this might be something to do with port restriction and i will have to do a fort forward to be able to play counter strike on server 27015.
So please help me solve me problems. Thanx alot

I'm not really sure what you're asking. If you need to open port 27015 but can't, then open up 27017 and forward it to your computer. Surely there's an option in the game where you can change the port being used. You may also be able to map port 27017 to 27015 on the firewall, in which case you'd only need to get your clients to connect to a different port number.

err, i can enter 27017 servers but not 27015. What do u mean by forward port 27017 it to the computer? btw there issnt an option to change the port being use, or is there? i dun have a firewall too.

If your school has blocked the port 27015 on your network and you can't change the port number being used, I don't think there's a way round this.

now i understand the situation n here it goes
i m connected to a dhcp(sch) server. so if the adminstrator limits the ports, does that mean i couldnt access the ports outside the range of the limitations.
or is there a way i can expand the limits of the ports myself

Well if they've actually limited the ports you can use, you can't bypass them without getting them to change it I don't think.

Hey. I know of some schools that have banned Counter-Strike. Yah I know it sucks but there is no way around it. Just don't play on servers that use the standard port.
