In answer to your question, if you're using an ICS style setup, you'll have to have a bridge set up on the machine which is plugged into your internet connection. Alternatively use a separate router and plug the PC's into a hub. Also tell us more about your network settings and what sort of internet connection you are using

sorry i was just in a rush when i posted that

I have a blueyonder broadband connection
I am using 2 NICs in the 1st pc and 1 in the other and connecting using crossover cable.
I am using a program to setup the network called sygate and have a firewall (from sygate aswell) i think this may be the problem

Hope this helps you to see my problem

what OS are you running on the two pc's? Why bother with this sygate thing? It's probably just complicating something which isn't working anyway. Get rid of it and see if you can set up your network first.. then unplug and dig the moat afterwards.
