Are the IP addresses for the computers on the same subnet? For example, both computers should have an address like 192.168.0.x with the subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0.

No they do not have such a ip adress because if I do that then the internet connection and local network is out of use,I try that on my client computer for exp.
client
192.168.0.2
255.255.255.0 I try to use allso the gateway from the master computer and that doesent help at all,in this case I lost my internet connection but I could still brows the master computer, but the master computer can not browse client computer this is just like peer to peer network but thrue the switch because sometime I help my friends if they have any problems with copmuters.

It shouldent be that deaficult because if I try to remote the master from client than I just use the ip adress wich is something like this:195.78.224.39 automatic ip adressing then try to conect to the master but no rensponse.
It seems like I just have to forget about remoting but thats life.

Thank you anyway edwinbrains and others I will try something in the wikend a head and se if Im lucky. thankyou.

You will need all clients to use an IP address like 192.168.0.x. Set these all manually, and then check if your network works as expected.

If your Internet doesn't work when you try this, see if you can browse to http://66.102.9.104 . If you can, then there is a simple DNS problem.
