Remote access my Linux box from home
Is there a way to remotely access my Linux box from my Windos box at home?

if they're on the same network, just ssh in with putty or secure crt for example.
if they're not on the same network, then grab a free domain name (dyndns.org for example) that points to your linux machine, then forward port 22 to it. then just ssh in from your windows machine. are the boxes sitting side by side, say in your room? |

No, no, the Linux box is co-located at a server farm. I already use SecureCRT, but I'd like the option of playing around with the GUI, for example... |

Well, as already suggested, VNC is one possible solution. That is, if your server farm provider allows VNC traffic. If not, there's alway X11 forwarding through ssh. ![]() |
