IP Address of your router
Unless you have changed the IP address of the router it should be the default IP that it came with, ie Linksys is 192.168.1.1 and USR is 192.168.123.254. Check the web site of your router and look for the default IP address. You can also look at ipconfig/all at the cmd prompt and get it there if it is part of you network.
Hope that helps DudeDomain |

I'd agree with DudeDomain - it's most likely to be something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1. Your instruction manual should show you, and if you've changed it you could always hit the reset switch to put it back to the default. There are programs that can search networks for machines and routers etc. but I would doubt that this is necessary. It should be fairly obvious.
Quote:
NAT = network address translation. This is something that routers use to enable sharing of the Internet. Your router has an external and internal address - your internal network computers only have internal addresses. With nat enabled, your router translates the internal ip address of the computer accessing the Internet to the external address of the router so that it appears that everything is coming from the router. Port forwarding is something you'll need to host servers. In your router you can configure port forwarding so that any request for port 80 (for example, websites) are forwarded to your internal web server. HTH, Edwin |

If you can't find the router, just post back and I'll give you some links for software which can search your network for attached devices

if your router which I think all home routers do has dhcp running then do an IPCONFIG /ALL and it will be the ip address of your default gateway. put that address in your web browser and walla! If you want the outside IP address apposed to the internal IP address you can goto like myipaddress.com this will be what your internal ip address (private) is being NAT'd/PAT'd to.
