Setting up large network
I am trying to set up a network for a private school. I have an intermediate knowledge of computer networking, but have never tried something on this scale before. Is there an internet resource that can help me set things up step by step?

What type of network?
How many nodes? What type of cabling/network? (cat5, cat6, fiber, wireless) How many servers? What type of peripheral devices? (Printers, Fax machines, voice mail) Will there be a shared internet connection? What type of Operting systems? (Mac, Windows, *nix) What is the physical layout? Will you be connecting to another network? (WAN, VPN) How will you handle security/ viruses? How will you address licensing issues? ... These are just some items you should be considering when setting up a network.
