Setting up RAS on Win Server 2003?
I'm trying to set up the Remote Access Service on our
Win Server 2003 so the boss can sit at home and connect
into the network.
Firstly, the configure RAS wizard wouldn't work until I
disabled ICF/ICS. So I disabled it.
Then, the wizard seemed to work fine, until the final screen,
where it flagged up some error or other.
This is the first time I've tried something like this, and I'd really
like to get it working. Am I missing something obvious, or do I need
to install something from the CD or what?
Thanks in advance
James H

It looks like you're not logged on as an Administrator/Domain Administrator.

It does look a bit like that except I *am* logged on as

I try not to assume anything. The other common reason for "access denied" messages is that there may be a different owner for the object in question (whatever the wizard is trying to create/modify) and you need to take ownership of the object. Is there any event recorded in Event Viewer?

In what field of the event viewer should I be
looking for something? Application, Security,
System, Directory Service, DNS Server or File
Replication Service?

Since there is no indication of what is denying your access, the best way to tell would be to run the wizard and see if any new errors with the current time are created.
