Sharing dial-up over crossover connection
Hi all.
I'm a relative amateur at networking, and need help. My friend and I both have laptops, and while we can share files etc with IPs of 192.169.0.1 and 192.169.0.2, we cannot share my (192.168.0.1) dial-up internet connection. We are using a crossover cable going direct from the back of my laptop to his. I have seen in other help areas that I need to set up a gateway that will appear in Connect to>Show all connections. How do I do this? Thanks in advance for responses, Vellboy |

On the computer with the Internet connection, right-click it in Network Connections and click Properties. Click the Advanced tab and then enable Internet Connection Sharing.
Then, on the second computer, edit the settings for the NIC so that the default gateway section points to the Ip address of the first computer (probably 192.168.0.1). |
