i removed the nic card of PC B and installed it in PC A..i guess theres nothing wrong with th nic card coz pc A was still able to connect to the net..but when i returned the nic card back to pc B and set it up to dial directly to the router.. i cant make a dial-up it says error 711..what else can i do?

Make sure Plug and play service is not disabled.

Also, if you have a connection on machine 1, and a spare nic card, stick the second nic in the connecting machine, turn connection sharing OFF, right click one of the connections and choose Bridge.

I would agree with JonO that the most likely cause is that the Plug and Play service is disabled or stopped. Try starting that, as he suggests, and see what happens.
If you can't get it to works, perhaps you should consider using computer A to share the Internet connection. Leave the NIC card in computer A and then follow the instructions earlier on in this post to set up sharing. |

i finally got things to work..i really got fed up with pc B so i reformatted it..hehehe..i figured the problem cant really be on pc A since it was newly reformatted.. so when i finished pc B the internet sharing finally worked..thanks for all your advices! c",)
