Slow VPN Links
Hi I am using a Pix 506e with the VPN client and was wondering if there was anything I can do to speed up the connection.
Both ends have a 512k / 256k ADSL connection. When a user opens a 4mb files it takes nearly 10 minutes to open. I have tested the speed of the network and all is fine. Can anyone offer any more tips. Thanks |

Im assuming you have the 506 at your work and that line is being utilized for internet by multiple people plus doing a client to site vpn? is your pix connected right to a modem or do you have a router infront of it that can do QoS (give IPSEC traffic priority over http traffic)? obviously getting a larger DSL circuit would help greatly as you are only getting the upload speed from your work which is 256k. are you using the highest encryption ie.. 3des, sha, dh-group 2? dropping this down to DES, MD5, DH 2 would speed it up some.
