Slow VPN Links

Hi I am using a Pix 506e with the VPN client and was wondering if there was anything I can do to speed up the connection.

Both ends have a 512k / 256k ADSL connection. When a user opens a 4mb files it takes nearly 10 minutes to open. I have tested the speed of the network and all is fine.

Can anyone offer any more tips.

Thanks

Im assuming you have the 506 at your work and that line is being utilized for internet by multiple people plus doing a client to site vpn? is your pix connected right to a modem or do you have a router infront of it that can do QoS (give IPSEC traffic priority over http traffic)? obviously getting a larger DSL circuit would help greatly as you are only getting the upload speed from your work which is 256k. are you using the highest encryption ie.. 3des, sha, dh-group 2? dropping this down to DES, MD5, DH 2 would speed it up some.
