I have 2 Windows XP Home PCs (one has SP2 and one has SP1), on my small network at my office. I have a folder thats shared and mapped on the 2nd computer so it has access. Currently, it only has read-only access to those files. The data is very important finanacial material, and is updated constantly throughout the day. Is there a way that the second computer can access the file AND add to it as well, and then at the end of the day have the file synchronized so the data entered from both computers are kept and saved in the single file.

You can't do that with "files" but you can with a database. Consider putting your financial information into a access database.

But even so, with a database, will that be updated in real time as both employees enter data (even into the same cell??).
