Tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it

-- Crude network diagram attached for reference. --
URL

I cannot seem to coax my network in to operating the way I would like it to, so I need your help to either tell me how to fix any issues I may have created, or to tell me that I am an idiot and cannot possibly pull this off.

As you will see in the attached diagram, the section of the network surrounded in green works properly and therefore I hope to not adjust any of it's settings.

The green section of the network resides on the 2nd floor of my home, the rest begining with the wireless bridge is in my basement. Because I cannot under any circumstances run RJ-45 cable through or outside my home, and cannot get a decent wireless signal anywhere in the basement except at the top of the stairs where the ethernet bridge is placed, I must use the wireless router and bridge configuration.

The problems begin to arise when the signal hops from the Wireless WRT54GS Router to the Motorola Ethernet Bridge. When I have my desktop plugged directly into the Bridge (as represented by the blue line) I can access the internet perfectly fine. However, I have multiple machines in the basement I would like to have internet access as well.

At the moment, I have plugged the Wireless Ethernet Bridge into the WAN port on the 1st Linksys Switch. From there I have a desktop computer and my xbox plugged directly into the switch. I then have another cable that runs the length of my basement to my 2nd Linksys Switch on my desk.

Under that configuration, none of the basement machines have internet connections. I have a Linksys Router availible as well that I can use in place of the 1st Linksys Switch (boxed in red) if that would prove helpful.

All hardware units have factory settings applied.

What have I done wrong? What can I do to fix it? Help me make my network operate!

Try connecting the Motorola Ethernet Bridge to a standard port on the 1st Linksys Switch.
