TELNET - Sending msg to user
Hey, is it possible to send a message to a friend through telnet?
When you use netstat you can work out a friends IP and port addy, so connecting to them is usually easy (I had to use port 25 tho). How am I able to send them a message through telnet? |

Generally speaking, you wont be able to communicate with someone using telnet command. Reason: Simply because most applications are not designed to do that.
However, if the remote person has some application that receives text information and shows it to the screen or saves it to a file for later retrieval then sure you can communicate using telnet. Hope this answers your questions. The Network Department |
