i have messed up my network so bad nothing works. i am running nortan anti virus corparate and nortan internet security 2004 on both computers. i am running win 2000 on main computer with internet, on my secondary computer i have win xp pro. i have a normal cross over cable running between the computers. i want to share the internet,printers and files. please help!!!! ![]() Last edited by pepsi : April 26th, 2004 at 11:14 AM. Run the Home Network Wizard. This is the beauty of an XP machine, it enjoys doing most of the configuration itself. Also make sure that your hard drives are shared so that the computer are able to share their files with each other.

wot do i do about the win 2000 as it wont let me run the xp set up on it.

Oh, your running Norton on both computers. Well first things first, disable them and the XP FW of course... After they are completely disabled, reset the computer and network and try again.
What is the IP address of the computer that is not able to connect? Does it have a 192.168.x.x ip?
