Which OS distrobution are you running? XP, NT, 98 or god forbid 95?

If you're unable to connect to your ISP gateway then what error does the system give when you try? An alert should pop up with an error-code and a brief description of the problem.

If you are able to establish a connection but are not recieving content then it would be helpful to descrribe what's happening in detail.

ok... more info...

im running XP home edition

i dont really get any errors other than it saying it cant connect to the website

in my network connections it says that everything is connected and running fine, all the drivers are working and it says data is being transferred, but again, i am not able to get onto the internet.

i also heard that XP has a problem switching between broadband and dial-up. for chrissakes it's a laptop! and i cant switch between the two, let alone get on the 'net in the first place!

hope this helps

If you get a message saying you can't connect to the website, does this mean that you have successfully connected with broadband or dial-up and you are trying to access a page in Internet Explorer? If so, what happens if you try to browse to http://216.239.59.104 ? If you can access this site - it's a DNS issue
