Question Trouble with file sharing on two WinXP machines

Hello guys!

First of all I'd like to tell you that I'm not extremelly savy, even tough I know a little from everythig.

I have a network with two computers. I have both computers on a LAN, using a D-Link router. One of the computers, the server, is on wireless connection, the other one (the client), I'm using it to browse the internet, play games, development, etc.

I use the server computer to host my website. Recently I installed Win XP on both (client and server) and I was looking for a way to access the server remotely, from the client in order for me to be easier to setup my website, without being need to go to the server computer all the time and copy there the files, from the cd, that I need to put the website and webserver up.
That would make my life a lot easier, setting everything up without going back and forth between the two computers.

So, I started reading on internet about it, and somehow I got it working. I can access the server from the client machine, thru the network, but no matter what I do, I cannot access the "Program Files" and the "Windows" folders on the server machine.
I didn't found any solution about that anywhere, and here I am.
To be more clear, here it is a screenshot of the message that I get, when trying to access one of those folders.
Access Denied

I hope you guys can help me!
THANK YOU!!

Diamax

P.S. Just found out that in addition to those folders, I cannot access the admin folder as well (\\server\c\Documents and Settings\Admin).

When you connect to these shares, make sure that you're using an account with admin privileges. To do this, create accounts on both computers that have exactly the same username and password and are both administrators. When you try to connect, you should be seen as an administrator, and allowed access.

Also, are you cable to access the \\server\c$ share? If you can, see if you can browse down to the Windows folder.

Hello Edwin!!
Thank you very much for your reply, but I just figured it out and I came here to share with you guys what it was, in case somebody has the same problem.
So here is the simple thing that was left to do in order to get this working:
I had to go open a folder, adn I went to Tools->Folder options, I clicked on "View", and I scrolled down, all the way to the bottom. Over there I unchecked "Use Simple File Sharing", and bang from now on everything is working perectly. I have access to everything I want on the server, of course I have to share all the folders that I want to access on the server machine.
So now I can control my server from the client machine just fine. I use the file sharing method and remote control combined to have full access to the server.

Hope this helps, if anyone has/had the same problems, and I am pretty sure that there are people with this issue.

BTW check this out, here it is the article that I read, and helped me find the last thing that I needed:
Windows XP Professional File Sharing

See you Edwin!
Good luck guys!
