trouble with Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet

Hi guys I’m having trouble with new machine in my network it have “Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet for HP” Integrated and when I connect to the switch I get “cable unplugged” message it have Windows XP Pro SP1 I try to set manually the speed for connection and nothing I try on different switch the same message the switch’s are 10/100 mbs the cable is cat 5 the device seems to have no troubles with other devices in device manager I have DHCP server I did not try with static private ip address but I think it would not help
any help please advice!!!
