Trying to access jetdirect interface card.

Trying to access jetdirect interface card. It is showing an address of 10.0.0.100 but the network is on a 192.168.x.x address block I need to be able to access the card in order to configure it for DHCP so it can get its address from the server.
Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

Does anyone know how to access this card.

The printer is a HP Designjet 750c and the card is a Jetdirect J2550A it is showing that it is configurable from the front panel on the plotter but for the llife of me I haven’t been able to find a way it also says it is configurable by telnet though I’m thinking that may not actually work because it’s not on the same network. I’m also not too familiar with telnet.

Have you tried just typing in http://10.0.0.100 into your browser? I have a broadband modem that is on a different address block to the rest of my network, but I can still access it fine just by typing in the address. If this doesn't work, why don't you manually set the IP address of one computer to 10.0.0.3, logon to the printer and tell it to use DHCP, and then reset your IP address on your computer.

Most printers have a web based administration control panel that you can use to administer them. I think you should just be able to visit http://10.0.0.100 to administer it.

Goto HP web site and download the jetadmin utility or the web jet admin utility (these utilities are what HP wants you to use and comes with jetdirect cards) then have it scan for all printers it will find it via MAC and let you reconfigure it. the printers IP address has know bearing on this as it scans vi IP,SNMP,IPX,Appletalk,DEC etc.
