Unable to connect to lan
Even when there is no activity light,data transfer rate is 1 byte.
Reinstalled nic drvs. pings to local host,but cannot connect to other pc's/server. Is it nic or port/cable? |

You are missing a ton of information for anyone to figure out what the problem is. So it can be all three. You might want to include the following:
Static or dhcp addresses? results of pinging 127.0.0.1 [loopback address of the nic] results of a ipconfig at a command prompt Troubleshooting suggestions: Use a known good patch cable Switch to a different port in the switch Swap the nic [same nic will mean you won't have to reinstall networking] Use a known good pc to connect to the same wall port being used and see if you can connect. |

Thx a ton for your advise.
After trying the T/S suggestions i found its the on-board nic. |
