    VPN Dropping out

    Hi,

I have a VPN connection with my office server. The connection is between a Win XP client and a Win 2000 Server. The connection is made using a broadband connection. It connects then drops out after 2 minutes then redials and connects..... Something else is not sure if it is related, whenI try to take it off the domain and reconnect it cant find the domain controller even when it is connected. Any help wqould be gratefully appreciated.

what are you using to establish the vpn? is it a w2k server with routing and remote access enabled or a PIX, sonicwall, bordermanager, linksys? Is your server or client behind a NAT interface? what errors are you getting in the client log? What are your upload speeds on your WAN links are they getting bottle knecked? what firewall is in front of or behind the vpn server? As for removing the PC from the domain and not seeing the domain controller well its working correctly.

Im going to guess you are running PPTP to a w2k server so just read this.....
