WAP using DD-WRT, or alternative
I have DD-WRT 23-sp2 installed on a linksys wrt54gl. I want to use it as a Wireless Access Point (WAP) not as a router.
I can't figure out how to do this. the wiki seems dated http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point I just want it to be a wifi switch/hub, with no local NAT or DHCP. If we can't make this work, is there other open source firmware to try? Thanks Pat |

You mean as a repeater?

No, er, perhaps, not knowing what you mean by repeater.
I want to take an ethernet cable from my router/hub/server setup and plug it into the WRT54GL, and have it talk WiFi to lots of computers. I do not want it to do its own NAT, or DHCP, I just want it to pass packets from WiFi to ethernet, and back. This is the standard function of a Wireless Access Point. |
