If you can successfully network between the two computers, why worry about setting NetBIOS settings. Open the properties for the Local Area Connection and double-click Internet Protocol TCP/IP. Click the Advanced button and then the WINS tab - just set the NetBIOS section at the bottom to default.
However, if you've got a network working OK - why change anything? Quote:
Perhaps a little more info? Quote:
Are both cards rated at the same speed (100Mbps rather than 10Mbps)? Is one running at full duplex while the other is running at half duplex? |

Those stats don't look right to me. This is a two pc network right? If communcating to each other the bit count sent and received should be similar not with appox 230,000 difference.
One card running at a 100mbps and one running at 10mbps would not make a difference in this aspect. Sent and recieved should be in similar but opposite ranges [send on pc1 is receive on pc2] It would appear to me the onboard nic of PC1 is malfunctioning. Could also be possible that the hub/switch/cable is also a issue. Don't confuse a hardware issue with a protocol issue. Apples and oranges. If it's the onboard nic you can disable it and put in a pci nic card. |

Never seen anything like this before and I can't find much about it on Google either. Perhaps you should unshare the folder and then re-share it.

It's certainly pretty impressive - I wouldn't say that I would fancy looking at that though every time I use my computer
