windows 98 logon
hi all, l have a 98 machine, l am networking it and have been told to make my primary logon " client for microsoft network " instead of " windows logon " if l do this will it ask me to type in a domain name because l am not on a domain l am on a workgroup.
l don't want to screw it up :S Thanks!! |

Yes, this will ask you to enter a domain name. I'm not completely sure on this, but if you just enter the computer name instead of a domain name, you should be able to log in locally anyways. Theoretically, this would let you log in without a domain and still access network items. Given my (lack of) experience with windows 98, I'd say there's about 35% chance that this works, and I've helped you

won't ask for a domain name. You would have to alter the microsoft client properties to include logging into a domain
there is nothing you can screw up here. |
