WinXP Can't See Local Area Connection
Running winxp home, and can't see Local Area Connection icon in network connections. Can get to the net, except for sbc.com, originally checking that problem. Other puters on lan thru linksys router don't have prob (W98, XPPro). Had issues with popup, seems to have been fixed. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Gonna feel like real dummy - probably staring me in the face!
Thanks in advance Pete |

Are you getting any specific errors you can post for us?
Is this XP Home machine in the same workgroup as the others? Chris

WinXP Can't See Local Area Connection
Nothing specific for errors, just very slow on initial load of IE; in Y! the graphics don't load (load pics on in IE); and can't get to sbc.com - besides not being able to see the local area connection in the network section.
Yes the XP home machine is part of the workgroup and I can get to the other machines (W98) on the workgroup. Read something about turning off the firewall in xphome, and went to find the local area connection which is where i'm at now. |
