Question Wireless home filesharing help please?

I'm having a problem using my wireless card on my laptop to connect to an existing MSHOME file and printsharing network in my house. It uses a NetGear wireless router, and is the only wireless device on the system. There are two wired computers that have no problem sharing files/printers, etc.

The wired computers are on a workgroup called MSHOME and so is the laptop, and both find the workgroup MSHOME, but the wired computers don't see the laptop, and the laptop sees nothing but itself on the MSHOME workgroup. Everything seems to be named the same, and correctly, anyone know what my problem might be?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

have you gone into the router and made sure its accepting the IP address of your wireless laptop. you may also need to register its mac address on the router to enable access if you have any sort of security running on it.

best wishes,

Andrew

Got it. I had a naming conflict in Windows 2000. The computer's name was one thing, but network name was another. Something odd like that.

Gotta love Windows.
