Some things to check:
Make sure the laptop is on the same workgroup as the other computers. Make sure that there are no firewalls running anywhere - including things like Internet Connection Firewall and ZoneAlarm etc. Check the IP addresses of your computers. You probably have the wired computers with IP addresses like 192.168.0.x. Make sure that your laptop is using a similar address, with the subnet set to 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway set to the IP address of the computer with the Internet connection. Can you ping from the laptop to the other computers and from the other computers to the laptop? If it still doesn't work, can you click Start, Run and type "ipconfig /all > C:\ipconfig.txt" (without the quotes) and then copy the ipconfig.txt into your next post. Do this on your laptop and the computer with the Internet connection. |
