Well, each computer that needs to connect to the network wirelessly will need a wireless network card - you could get a PCI one or a USB one, or, if the computers are laptops, you could use PCMCIA cards.

Then, since I presume you've already got a wired network in place, you would need to buy a wireless access point. This would connect by wires into the hub/switch you already have, and then allow wireless computers to access the network too.

Do you want to ask it in a different way, or just leave it at that?

Question the re-phrase

alright let me ask adifferent way. The little issue is that, i want to get an external antenna most likely a DLINK for my DLINK pci wireless lan card. They use the same IEEE law. I want to know if it would work.

Originally, the AP was designed with a small antenna of outdoor range of about 400m. but the desination is about 650m am also alittle bit particular about using a PCI card and not another AP.

I'm not sure I understand. You want to buy a new antenna for your PCI card and use it in place of your access point?

As long as everything is compatible (ie: make sure you buy an antenna in the same make as the AP), and the AP allows you to use an external antenna, I can't see why this wouldn't work.
