Wiring my house with a linksys 4 port router and a 8 port switch

Ok, I have a linksys 4 port wired router and a 8 port linksys switch, I have my cable modem plugged into the router and another cable going from the router into the 8 port switch, I have another wire going from the 8 port switch into my computer and my internet works. However, whenever I plug anyone else into the switch they can't use the internet. How is it possible for me to be able to use the internet but not them?

Please let me know,

Thanks, Chris

Wrong cable?

The other computers may not have their network configurations set properly.

If your switch isn't autosensing, you need to plug the cable from the router into a specific socket on the switch.

Well, the lights on the switch come up, and it says they are connected and receiving packets but the internet won't come up. So I was thinking of naming my network and then going to there comps and trying to get them onto my named network.

Check your router settings. Do you have your router set up to handle DHCP? Then check your computers to make sure they're getting different private IP addresses from the router.
