You don't say, but I presume you have got the Internet connection on your XP computer and you are having problems sharing it to your ME computer. Presumably you have enabled Internet Connection Sharing on the connection on the XP computer. On the second computer, have you checked that you have set the default gateway correctly to the IP address of the other computer.

You haven't set any strange settings in Internet Explorer, have you? For example, you haven't set it to try and use a proxy server?

Does this problem happen with all sites or just the tiscali site?

Also, can you try pinging the website address. Open a Command Prompt and type "ping www.google.com" (without the quotes). If that doesn't work, try "ping 216.239.59.104" (without the quotes).

Having said all this, I've just searched the MS KB and found this article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316699. Sounds like you may have to create a new ISP connection.

HTH,

Edwin

I can't remember exactly with Windows Me, but I think in the Control Panel you'll find a Network applet. Open this and there should be an option somewhere to change the default gateway to the IP address of the computer with the Internet connection. However, if you're accessing MSN etc from the computer, I doubt this is the problem.

About that MS site. What it tells you to do is create a new connection to the Internet. On whichever computer has the Internet Connection, right-click the dial-up connection and select delete. Then create a new one and re-enter all the telephone numbers, username and password etc. After doing some more research, I think this should fix your problem
