Question XP not playing nice with SAMBA

I've got a SAMBA server setup, under I've got smb.conf configured so that security=SHARE

I'm getting kind of annoyed at my XP system, because it seems to be always trying to connect to SAMBA as Guest.

Natrually, i have guest blocked.. but it's still irritating me. Any clues how i can tell SAMBA to force XP to ask for a username and pw?

i'm sure i can bandaid and map a network drive under a different username, but that only solves the problem for me... the tech guy. I don't want to go explaining what a mapped drive means to joe user.

thx

And you have samba users set up, right? You need to set them up in the smbusers and smbpasswd files.
